Celebrating World Family Doctor Day! Dr. Sebaka Malope reflects on World Family Doctor Day and his recent graduation with a Master’s in Health Professions Education: The 19th of May is earmarked by WONCA as World Family Doctor Day to celebrate the achievements of family physicians around the world in their different roles within health systems. In Lesotho, we have made progress and we have a growing number of family physicians. Read more.

LeBoHA was honored to receive the 2022 UN Interagency Task Force and the WHO Special Programme on Primary Health Care Award at the UN General Assembly on September 21st, 2022. This honor is in recognition of the achievement LeBoHA has made on strengthening Lesotho’s health system, by providing context-specific primary healthcare training for healthcare providers at the community level. A Message from the Director: During my September trip to the Mountain Kingdom, I learned that there are now an additional three Basotho Doctors in the rural, mountainous town of Mokhotlong: a Family Medicine specialist consultant who trained in the LeBoHA Family Medicine Specialty Training Program (FMSTP), a registrar currently in training in the FMSTP, and an intern – training in the LeBoHA National Medical Internship Program.
